Levan Island Retreat — Pool

Located on Levan Island in Croatia, the project brings the natural character of the Adriatic coast together with a contemporary, pared-back approach to the resort. The starting point was that neither the built form nor the open areas should compete with the surrounding landscape — they should become part of it.

The broad pool area, the sun terraces and the open living areas reaching towards the shore were arranged so the view is experienced without interruption. Timber surfaces, natural stone, woven details and organic forms carry the island's warm, natural atmosphere into the architectural language.

Landscape was treated not as something that merely surrounds the design but as one of its principal components. Dense planting, shaded resting areas and the transitions created between the water surfaces produce different spatial experiences as the light changes through the day.

Luxury here is defined not through display but through simplicity, privacy, the relationship with nature and spatial comfort. Views turning towards the Adriatic at sunset, the warmth of natural materials and a plan that puts outdoor living first create a calm, timeless atmosphere in keeping with the character of Levan Island.
